Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Debby Snack Cakes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christos Sophocleous!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sophocleous defending well as Snack Cakes loads up on a big left hand.
Sophocleous shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Snack Cakes as he avoids it easily.
Sophocleous takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Sophocleous with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Snack Cakes to score with a decent uppercut.
Sophocleous gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Snack Cakes counters with a straight right hand.
Sophocleous is rocked!
Sophocleous has a takedown stuffed.
Debby Snack Cakes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christos Sophocleous.
Sophocleous pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Oooooh!!! Snack Cakes has knocked Sophocleous down with a huge combo! Snack Cakes steps away and waves a wobbly Sophocleous back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Sophocleous is still on wobbly legs! Can Snack Cakes finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sophocleous tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Snack Cakes swivels and escapes.
Sophocleous is trying desperately to land a takedown but Snack Cakes is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sophocleous.
Snack Cakes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sophocleous's hands.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Snack Cakes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Snack Cakes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sophocleous seems to have recovered his senses.
Snack Cakes swings for the body but Sophocleous moves out of range.
Snack Cakes avoids the head kick by Sophocleous.
Snack Cakes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sophocleous moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sophocleous shoots in looking for a takedown. Snack Cakes tries to sprawl out of it but Sophocleous keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Snack Cakes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Snack Cakes lands a left and a right that send Sophocleous crashing to the mat, dazed. Snack Cakes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Snack Cakes changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Christos Sophocleous seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sophocleous keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Snack Cakes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Sophocleous looks winded!
Snack Cakes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Snack Cakes feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sophocleouss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Snack Cakes drops Sophocleous with a straight right hand, right on the button! Snack Cakes follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Debby Snack Cakes!
After winning the bout, Debby Snack Cakes thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
