Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaarlo Sonninen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonson comes to the cage accompanied by bis das Blut gefriert. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sonninen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sonninen is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jonson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
