Byrkjelo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Skindred, no body. Richard Burger could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Damien Byrkjelo's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burger dives in and grabs Byrkjelo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Byrkjelo pushes down on Burger's head and hops out.
Burger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Byrkjelo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Burger tries to clinch but Byrkjelo is having none of it.

Burger is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Burger stops a takedown attempt from Byrkjelo.
Byrkjelo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Burger's elbow.
Burger lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Damien Byrkjelo has been cut.
Byrkjelo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Burger walks away with a smile on his face. Byrkjelo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Burger lands with a kick to the ribs.
Richard Burger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burger moves into range and clinches up with Byrkjelo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Byrkjelo looking for a takedown.

Burger postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Byrkjelo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burger defends well.

Byrkjelo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Burger stacks Byrkjelo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Burger!
Burger in side control lands a decent elbow.
Byrkjelo is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Byrkjelo parries the strikes from Burger easily there. Burger is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Byrkjelo to escape.

Burger wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Byrkjelo, who protects the arm well.
Byrkjelo can't do much from the bottom here.
Burger connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Byrkjelo some visible discomfort.
Burger tries to score with some ground and pound. Byrkjelo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Byrkjelo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burger wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Burger tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Byrkjelo is refusing to be controlled, as Burger sits in half guard.
Burger thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Byrkjelo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Burger passes the guard and advances to mount!
Byrkjelo tries to hold on but Burger postures up.

Byrkjelo is squirming around, avoiding Burger's attempts to control the action.
Byrkjelo is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Burger looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Byrkjelo covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
