Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Igor Yakovchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wai Man Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yakovchenko's entrance music is Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Igor Yakovchenko!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wai Man Li!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakovchenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Li shoots in looking for a takedown but Yakovchenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Li's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Li drops his hands momentarily and Yakovchenko takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Li throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Yakovchenko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Li closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Yakovchenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Yakovchenko is working hard here to advance position.
Yakovchenko has hold of Li's hands but Li slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Li seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Yakovchenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Yakovchenko is trying is best to control the position here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Still in half guard, Li seems content to control.

Li is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yakovchenko is just riding it out for now. Li eventually gives up the hold.

Li is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Yakovchenko sees it coming and defends easily.
Li wants to take a breather but Yakovchenko is having none of it.
Li passes to side control.
Li scores with a couple of short elbows.
Yakovchenko is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Li off and has taken his back!
Yakovchenko keeps control of the position as Li tries to break free.
Li breaks Yakovchenko's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Yakovchenko controls Li momentarily but Li frees himself.

Yakovchenko wants to hit a switch here but Li passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Yakovchenko there!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Yakovchenko tries to escape but Li has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Li moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Yakovchenko has worked his arm free - good work by Yakovchenko!

Li thows a huge punch but Yakovchenko dodges it nicely.
Yakovchenko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Li's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Li's back!

Li throws a nice looking combination but Yakovchenko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
