The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overfield Jr dives in and grabs The Pirate's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Pirate pushes down on Overfield Jr's head and hops out.
The Pirate misses with a right hand
and Overfield Jr counters with a head kick.
Blackbeard The Pirate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Pirate lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Overfield Jr misses with a takedown
and The Pirate counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The Pirate throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

The Pirate throws a low kick, looking for Overfield Jr's leg but Overfield Jr calmly moves out of range.
Overfield Jr ducks under a wild hook from The Pirate.
The Pirate tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Overfield Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The Pirate looks to score with a jab to the body but Overfield Jr is just out of range.
Overfield Jr tries for a takedown but The Pirate sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Blackbeard The Pirate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Overfield Jr.
Overfield Jr on the wrong end of a nice jab.

The Pirate throws a poor cross that misses
and Overfield Jr counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. The Pirate is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Overfield Jr closes the distance and clinches up with The Pirate, looking for a takedown. Overfield Jr pushes The Pirate against the cage but The Pirate circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Overfield Jr drives through with a takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Overfield Jr is looking to work some ground and pound but The Pirate has wrist control.

Overfield Jr takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! The Pirate's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
