Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Adam Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braden Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turk has chosen Status Quo - Deeper and Down as his entrance music. Adam Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Adam Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Braden Turk!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turk thows a body shot but no joy.
A slapping leg kick lands for Turk.
Gracie avoids a kick to the body.
Turk thows a leg kick but Gracie checks it
and Gracie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Turk lands a glancing blow to the side of Gracie's head.

Turk drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Turk!

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Turk is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Turk and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gracie swings around for an armbar but Turk sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gracie's guard.
Turk trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Turk is proving a slippery customer.
Turk throws a big right hand that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Turk wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Turk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Turk working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gracie's head.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Turk is aware though and is defending well.
Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Turk defends easily.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Turk is one step ahead there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turk trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Turk must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Turk might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gracie kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Turk stands and steps away. Gracie gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gracie fails to land the takedown.
Turk lands a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Turk throws a push kick but Gracie slaps the foot to one side.
Turk throws a leg kick which misses Gracie's front leg but catches the back leg as Gracie tries to avoid it.
Turk thows a body shot but no joy.
Gracie lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gracie dips to his left and cracks Turk with an uppercut!
Gracie throws the left hand but Turk avoids the punch easily.
Gracie has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turk punishes Gracie's body with a nice straight punch.
Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Turk.
Braden Turk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turk stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Braden Turk dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Turk fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Good leg kick by Turk there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Turk avoids it really well and circles away.
Turk lands an overhand right.
Gracie swings widly with a right hand
and Turk counters with an outside leg kick.
Turk tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie thows a left - swing and a miss!

That's one minute gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Gracie.
Turk lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gracie's sensitive parts.
Gracie bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gracie misses with an uppercut.
Turk wants to land a leg kick but Gracie is out of range.
Gracie just misses with a punch to the body.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt
and Turk counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie misses with a low kick.
Sloppy strikes from Turk. Those never looked like landing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Turk defends it nicely.
Gracie misses with a hook. Turk ducked under it nicely.
Turk tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gracie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Turk looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.
Nice jab there from Turk.
Turk shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gracie defends it nicely.

and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control.

Turk manages to get back to half guard.
Turk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Turk is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Turk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back!
Gracie trying to control the hands but Turk breaks the grip.
Turk lands a shot to the head.
Turk is not going to allow Gracie to sit and survive in this position.
Braden Turk has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Turk misses with an elbow to the head.
Turk throwing wild punches that miss their target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Braden Turk will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Turk tries to clinch
and Gracie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gracie on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Gracie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Turk uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gracie.
Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Turk.
Gracie chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Turk can pounce on him.

Turk dives in and scores a takedown into Gracie's guard.
Turk working some strikes from top position.
Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Turk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Turk trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Turk won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turk controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Braden Turk wasn't active enough on the ground.
Turk misses with a body kick.
Gracie shoots in and drives through. Turk sprawls well.
Gracie swings away with a body shot that misses
and Turk counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Turk shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gracie napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Turk trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Turk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gracie down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turk throwing strikes but Gracie manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gracie swings around for an armbar but Turk sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gracie's guard.

Gracie has his foot on Turk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Turk works his way back into a safe position though.

Braden Turk is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Turk wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well.

Gracie wants to control but Turk is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Adam Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Braden Turk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Turk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
