The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McAlister manages to avoid it.

Laine throws a right hand that McAlister ducks under and follows up with a left that McAlister also avoids with ease.

McAlister throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Laine stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

McAlister is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Laine had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McAlister ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McAlister no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McAlister wants to get back to his feet but Laine is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duncan McAlister is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Laine connects with a leg kick. McAlister looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Laine feints a jab and as McAlister dips his head, Laine unleashes a brutal head kick that catches McAlister right on the jaw! Timbeeer! McAlister falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Laine smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
