Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mathew The Animal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Yvel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mathew The Animal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gilbert Yvel!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yvel fails with the takedown.
The Animal tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Yvel counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yvel.
Yvel slows down the pace here.

Yvel manages to break the clinch.
The Animal tries for a takedown but Yvel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A head kick by Yvel misses
and The Animal counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Yvel counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps The Animal thinking.

The Animal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yvel was covering up waiting for the punch and The Animal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The Animal wants to pass the guard but Yvel is keeping the position.

Yvel manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Yvel has closed the distance and engaged The Animal in a clinch.

Yvel has hold of one of The Animal's legs. The Animal is fighting the takedown attempt but Yvel gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Yvel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. The Animal tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Yvel is in The Animal's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gilbert Yvel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
No joy there for The Animal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Yvel counters by clinching up.

Yvel lands a takedown into guard.

The Animal is working an open guard so Yvel takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The Animal shoots in but Yvel avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The Animal gets tackled into the cage by Yvel. Yvel maintains the clinch.

Yvel pulls The Animal into guard.
The Animal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Yvel looking for a sweep. Not yet Yvel, not yet.
The Animal wants to get up but he can't break Yvel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Yvel manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The Animal avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


The Animal shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Yvel counters with a shoot takedown. The Animal fights it but they end up in guard.
Yvel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Yvel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Yvel creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Yvel manages to break the clinch.
The Animal closes the distance but Yvel moves to the side

so Yvel counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The Animal has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Yvel has passed into side control.
The Animal is trying to control Yvel's posture but Yvel avoids it.

Yvel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Yvel punishes The Animal's body with a nice straight punch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yvel pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Yvel is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well Yvel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
