Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Average Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhaka Zulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zhaka Zulu is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Average Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zhaka Zulu!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zulu tries for a takedown but Joe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Zulu shoots in for a double leg but Joe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Joe counters with a stiff right hand.

and Zulu is countered with a crisp right hand from Joe that sends him to the canvas! Joe follows him to the mat into side control.


Zulu is rocked!
Average Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zhaka Zulu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Joe thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Joe is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Zulu to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Zulu shrugs it off.

Joe misses with a straight left.
Zhaka Zulu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joe lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Joe.

Zulu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Joe on his heels. He'll look to pass Joe's guard now, I'm sure.

Zulu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Joe pulls his head out easily.

Joe is trying to control the action in half guard but Zulu is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Average Joe dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Zulu shoots in for a takedown but Joe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Zulu slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
I really don't envy Joe right now.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Joe has hold of Zulu's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zulu manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Zulu is working to get back to half guard.

Joe is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Zulu has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Zulu!

Zulu stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Joe throws up his legs and catches Zulu in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Zulu tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Joe! That came out of nowhere!
