With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs defends well against a solid takedown attempt from De Pury.
De Pury looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jacobs is fending him off so far but De Pury persists. Nope, Jacobs circles away and we're back to standing.
De Pury throws a right and a left that Jacobs avoids nicely.
A low kick from De Pury is predictable there
and Jacobs counters with a thumping low kick.
Jacobs looks to land a left hand but De Pury moved out of range nicely.
Jacobs lands a nice shot to the body.
De Pury takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jacobs throws a shot from downtown. De Pury moves away and avoids it.
De Pury tries to land a leg kick but Jacobs saw it coming and moves away.

De Pury shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jacobs as he avoids it easily.

De Pury throws a right and a left that Jacobs avoids nicely.
De Pury really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

De Pury tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jacobs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Pury somewhat.

De Pury uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jacobs.
De Pury wants to slow Jacobs down by chopping away at his legs.
De Pury slips a jab from Jacobs.
De Pury lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

De Pury changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jacobs tries to avoid it but De Pury manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jacobs to the ground. Jacobs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jacobs throws out a loose jab but De Pury uses good head movement to avoid it.
De Pury takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jacobs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from De Pury.
De Pury tries a head kick but it misses.
De Pury displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jacobs throws out the jab.

and Jacobs counters with a stiff right hand.

Jacobs throws a right hand that De Pury ducks under and follows up with a left that De Pury also avoids with ease.
Jacobs lands a jab to De Pury's midsection.
De Pury displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jacobs throws out the jab.
De Pury lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jacobs circles away quickly and effectively.
De Pury swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Jacobs throws an overhand right that lands on De Pury's shoulder, as De Pury tries to avoid the shot.
De Pury throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jacobs fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and De Pury has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

De Pury takes one on the button.

Jacobs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. De Pury sprawls well initially but Jacobs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
De Pury on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if De Pury tries to get out of the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Nice strikes from Jacobs there.

De Pury looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Jacobs wants to control but De Pury is keeping him busy.
De Pury knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jacobs on the ground.
Jacobs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

De Pury is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jacobs lands a big shot there that rocks De Pury but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jacobs scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Jacobs dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


De Pury shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jacobs sprawls well. Jacobs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. De Pury gets slowly back to his feet.
De Pury goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and De Pury takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
De Pury throws the left hand but Jacobs avoids the punch easily.
Jacobs is looking to clinch but De Pury is avoiding it.
Jacobs works De Pury's body with a nice hook.
Jacobs misses the shot to the body.
De Pury on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A telegraphed right hand from De Pury misses the target.
Jacobs throws a quick inside leg kick.
De Pury takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jacobs connects with a body shot that sends De Pury's belly button to the back.

De Pury takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Jacobs tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
De Pury struggles to land a body shot inside as Jacobs controls his hands.
De Pury is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jacobs to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan De Pury. That's going to take a lot out of him.

De Pury pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jacobs scores with a leg kick.
Jacobs lands a right hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Pury avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jacobs.
De Pury walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Jacobs drops his shoulder and cracks De Pury with a huge uppercut! De Pury goes down! Can Jacobs finish him?


De Pury is rocked!

Jacobs postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! De Pury covers up, he's hurt! Jacobs keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Jacobs and the ref steps in to end the fight! Jacobs can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyson Jacobs!
