Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eildon Heap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henderson Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Eildon Heap!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Henderson Cormier!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heap sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cormier somewhat.
Cormier shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Heap sprawls well. Heap wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cormier gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck for Cormier with that takedown attempt.
Eildon Heap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henderson Cormier.
Heap tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cormier swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Heap utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cormier accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Henderson Cormier has been cut.
Cormier has Heap pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Heap manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Cormier is trying to drag Heap to the mat but Heap just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Heap unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cormier lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cormier jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Heap walks away with a smile on his face. Cormier gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Heap tries to close the distance and clinch but Cormier swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cormier changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Heap tries to avoid it but Cormier manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Heap to the ground. Heap escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Heap fails with an attempt to clinch.
No joy there for Heap, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cormier keeps the fight on the outside.

Heap takes the fight into the clinch.
Heap pushes off an throws an elbow but Cormier leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cormier is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Heap is defending well.
Cormier has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Heap avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cormier shoots for a takedown but Heap saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Heap fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cormier looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Eildon Heap is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
