Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muana Shylo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Muana Shylo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Muana Shylo!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shylo to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Shylo drops back looking for a leg! Hunter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hunter manages to kick Shylo off! Shylo jumps back into Hunter's guard.
Hunter wants to stand up but Shylo is controlling him.

Shylo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hunter looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hunter looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hunter!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunter trying to control the action but Shylo is working from the bottom.
Shylo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Hunter stands up.
Hunter fails with an attempt to clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hunter enables Shylo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hunter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Shylo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hunter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shylo dives in and grabs Hunter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hunter pushes down on Shylo's head and hops out.
Shylo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hunter but Hunter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Paul Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Muana Shylo.

and Hunter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shylo's guard.

Hunter postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Shylo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hunter defends it easily.

Hunter is really struggling to control Shylo but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Shylo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Shylo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hunter wants to get up but he can't break Shylo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Shylo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hunter is aware though and is defending well.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hunter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hunter wants to control from the top but Shylo keeps moving.

Shylo is looking for a triangle but Hunter pushes his legs off easily.

Shylo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hunter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shylo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hunter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shylo can't keep his opponent in guard - Hunter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Hunter decides to stand up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hunter turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Paul Hunter will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hunter darts in and clinches Shylo up against the cage.
Hunter crunches a lovely knee into Shylo's ribcage.

Hunter manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Shylo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hunter, up you get!
Shylo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Shylo shoots in looking for a takedown but Hunter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shylo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hunter!
Hunter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shylo shoots in but no luck this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shylo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Shylo gets tackled into the cage by Hunter. Hunter maintains the clinch.

Hunter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hunter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shylo was covering up waiting for the punch and Hunter finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hunter stands up and beckons Shylo to his feet.
Shylo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunter as he jumps to the side.

Good leg kick by Hunter there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Hunter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Shylo is desperately trying to improve his position but Hunter has a good base and remains in mount.
You get the feeling that Shylo really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Hunter cracks Shylo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Shylo wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Shylo is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Shylo turns into Hunter and is now in his guard.

Shylo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shylo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shylo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hunter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shylo has managed to get both his arms back between Hunter's legs - danger averted.

Shylo wants to stand but Hunter has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Shylo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hunter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shylo.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hunter moves into the clinch.

Hunter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hunter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Shylo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
