The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer thows a left - swing and a miss!
Takahara is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Takahara lands with an overhand left.
A telegraphed right hand from Palmer misses the target.

A solid body kick from Takahara.
Takahara thuds his shin into the meat of Palmer's side.
Takahara uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Palmer has time to react.
Takahara avoids the body shot from Palmer.
Takahara is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Palmer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Takahara is fending him off so far but Palmer persists. Nope, Takahara circles away and we're back to standing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Takahara counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Takahara moves in looking to clinch but Palmer pushes him off.
Takahara scores with a sloppy right hand. Palmer should have avoided that one.
Takahara has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Nice body kick there by Takahara.
Palmer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Takahara connects with a good right hand that stumbles Palmer. Palmer circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Takahara throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Palmer swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Takahara using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Palmer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Palmer wants to break the clinch but can't.
Palmer is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Takahara lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Takahara tries to land a knee to the head but Palmer blocks with his arms.
Takahara blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Takahara throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Palmers head.
Takahara connects with a nasty looking knee right to Palmer's face.
Takahara is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Oh Palmer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Takahara creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Palmer with a big uppercut! Palmer tries to clinch up but Takahara pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Palmer to the mat! Palmer covers up and Takahara unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
