With a record of 45 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rip James!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
James moves out of range of the body kick.
Peterwhacker looks to land a combination but James avoids it well.
James lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Peterwhacker scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Rip James has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Peterwhacker shoots in and bounces James off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

James working for a triangle but Peterwhacker defends it easily.

James working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peterwhacker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peterwhacker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Peterwhacker is aware though and is defending well.

Peterwhacker is nestled in close to James, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peterwhacker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

James is looking for a sweep.
Peterwhacker has knee on belly momentarily but James bucks him off and regains half guard.

Peterwhacker is working for a submission of some sort.

Peterwhacker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and James defends it well.
Peterwhacker uses his free foot to push down on James's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for James.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
James regains half guard.
Peterwhacker missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Peterwhacker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away.
Peterwhacker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it.

James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Peterwhacker is aware though and is defending well.

James is looking for a sweep. Peterwhacker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Peterwhacker here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Peterwhacker wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.
Peterwhacker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Peterwhacker stands and throws James's legs to the side, diving into side control.
James tries to buck Peterwhacker off but Peterwhacker is having none of it.
Peterwhacker landing strikes.
James sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Peterwhacker takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
James tries to roll over but Peterwhacker keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James is in trouble now - Peterwhacker has advanced to mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
James is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Peterwhacker unloads with some vicious shots from mount and James wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Peterwhacker celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Peterwhacker!
Michael Peterwhacker really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fossington & Blythe: Gentlemen's Fight Attire logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
