The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Riley misses with a head kick.
Leonardo misses the jab.
Riley moves out of range of the strikes.
Leonardo misses with a straight left.

Leonardo gets caught flat footed, as Riley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Riley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Leonardo looking for a sweep. Not yet Leonardo, not yet.
Riley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Leonardo is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Riley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Riley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Riley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Leonardo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Leonardo has escaped and now he's on top!

Leonardo throws a nice looking combination but Riley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Riley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Leonardo.

and Riley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Riley.

Riley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leonardo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Riley has gone for a leg lock! Leonardo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Riley's guard.

Riley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Leonardo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Riley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Leonardo has managed to get both his arms back between Riley's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Marcus Riley will probably get the nod.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Leonardo.
Riley moves away from the strike by Leonardo.
Leonardo throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Leonardo throws a shot from downtown. Riley moves away and avoids it.
Leonardo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Leonardo swings for the body but Riley moves out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Riley checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Marcus Riley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Riley tries for a takedown but Leonardo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Leonardo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Riley.
Riley avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Leonardo lands a slapping body shot.

Riley closes the distance and pushes Leonardo back into the cage.
Leonardo tries to land a knee to the head but Riley blocks with his arms.
Riley jumps guard but Leonardo stands there with Riley around his waist. Riley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Riley has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Leonardo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Leonardo Leonardo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Riley.
Leonardo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Riley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Leonardo throws out a loose jab but Riley uses good head movement to avoid it.
Leonardo throws a lazy right hand but Riley sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Leonardo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Leonardo cracks Riley with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Riley looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Leonardo finish him?

Leonardo looks to score with a jab to the body but Riley is just out of range.

Riley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Leonardo.
Riley seems to have recovered his senses.
Leonardo throws a jab but it's blocked by Riley.

Leonardo lands a big right hand that sends Riley crashing to the mat! Leonardo stays standing though and waves Riley back to his feet!
Riley shoots for a double leg takedown but Leonardo sprawls well. He's pushed Riley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Riley checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Riley goes for an armbar but Leonardo turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Leonardo.

Riley fails in his attempt to clinch.
Riley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leonardo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Leonardo slaps away a takedown attempt from Riley, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Riley counters with a thumping low kick.

Leonardo lands a big uppercut and Riley crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Riley looks OK. Leonardo waves Riley back to his feet!
