Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre LePew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey Lui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre LePew!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeffrey Lui!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lui stuffs the takedown.
LePew avoids the body shot from Lui.

LePew has gone for a leg lock! Lui slips out almost immediately though and dives into LePew's guard.

LePew is looking for a triangle but Lui pushes his legs off easily.

LePew working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lui has passed into half guard!

LePew is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lui's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lui's back!

LePew is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lui defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

LePew is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Lui is having to fend off submission attempts from LePew, who is looking to sink in the choke. LePew doesn't have the hooks in though and Lui manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lui decides to stand up, so the ref orders LePew to his feet.
Lui avoids the head kick by LePew.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pierre LePew will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


LePew shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lui as he avoids it easily.

Lui drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
LePew is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LePew tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Lui presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

LePew bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

LePew postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lui is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of LePew, into his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

LePew has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lui is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for LePew.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
LePew manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

LePew is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lui is defending against the submission attempts here by LePew.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeffrey Lui showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


LePew shoots in but no luck this time.
Lui moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Pierre LePew has been cut.
LePew fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lui misses with a looping left.

Lui swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
LePew tries to move into range but Lui moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Jeffrey Lui seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lui uses good head movement to avoid the hook from LePew.
Lui cracks LePew with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lui swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and LePew counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lui takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lui throws a predictable looking body shot
and LePew counters with a nice uppercut.

LePew looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lui is still in real trouble! Can LePew finish him?

LePew is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lui doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time LePew.
LePew works his way into side control.
Lui seems to have recovered his senses.

LePew thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Lui is trying to improve his position.

LePew goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lui rolls with the submission and now he's on top in LePew's guard! Nice work there by Lui!

LePew looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lui has picked LePew up and slammed him! LePew can't keep hold of the triangle and Lui manages to pass to side control!

Lui decides to stand back up.

Lui throws the left hand but LePew avoids the punch easily.
Lui rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but LePew moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
LePew fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
LePew cracks Lui with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lui throws a combination that misses
and LePew counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Lui to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by LePew!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Pierre LePew!
