The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rupponen tries for a takedown but Muhammad circles away easily

and Muhammad counters with a single leg into guard. Rupponen didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Rupponen has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Muhammad doesn't defend quickly enough and Rupponen has managed to lock this one up! Can Muhammad escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Rupponen on a fantastic submission victory.

A determined Riku Rupponen didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
