Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Winston Cole!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaakko Kilpinen!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole feints and then cracks Kilpinen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kilpinen down.
Kilpinen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cole checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Cole listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Cole misses with a wild body shot.
Kilpinen swings widly with a right hand
and Cole counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kilpinen is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Cole fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kilpinen checks it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cole throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Cole steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kilpinen.
Kilpinen drops his hands momentarily and Cole needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Kilpinen just on the top of the head. Kilpinen drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Kilpinen - he's done!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Winston Cole!
Winston Cole retains his heavyweight title!
Winston Cole decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
