The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thunder ducks right into an uppercut from Kanen.

It looks like Denton Thunder has been cut.

Thunder throws a nice outside leg kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Thunder.
Thunder jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Kanen clinches with his opponent.

Kanen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Thunder backwards.

Thunder lands a hook to the side of the head.

Kanen manages to break the clinch.
Kanen punishes Thunder's body with a nice straight punch.
Kanen tried to score with a low kick but Thunder checks it.
Kanen misses with a straight left.
Kanen misses with a series of wild punches.
Thunder tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Thunder misses with a straight left.
Kanen cracks Thunder with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Kanen throws a lazy body kick
and Thunder finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Kanen throws a combination. Thunder tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Thunder moves out of range of the body kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kanen checks a leg kick.
Thunder just misses with a punch to the body.
Kanen misses with a low kick as Thunder jumps back.
Kanen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Thunder.
Thunder throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kanen.
Kanen tried to score with a low kick but Thunder checks it.
Thunder shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kanen misses with a body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kanen tries for a takedown but Thunder circles away easily
and Thunder counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kanen thinking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kanen misses with a jab, cross combination.

and Thunder counters with a head kick. That will keep Kanen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Denton Thunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samor Kanen.
Thunder connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Kanen misses with a two punch combination.
Thunder connects with a leg kick. Kanen looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Thunder throws a front kick that sends Kanen stumbling back into the cage.
Kanen looks winded!
Kanen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

It looks like Samor Kanen has been cut.
Denton Thunder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thunder lunges at Kanen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kanen's hand.
Kanen tries to clinch up.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kanen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Thunder - the referee stops the clock and Kanen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Thunder. Kanen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Thunder closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Kanen! Thunder dives in looking to finish! Kanen is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
