The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamont misses with a left hand

and Junior counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lamont is refusing to be controlled, as Junior sits in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lamont accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Junior manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Junior throws a sloppy strike and Lamont uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Lamont has ended up in Junior's guard.

Junior is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
