Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Pierre Babin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Begbie Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Babin comes to the cage accompanied by South Park - Let's Fighting Love. Franco has chosen Born Slippy as his entrance music. Jean Pierre Babin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Pierre Babin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Begbie Franco!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Franco throws a leg kick but Babin sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Babin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Franco.
Babin throws a nice looking combination but Franco bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Franco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Babin moves out of range of the body kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Babin as he connects with a hook.
A nice leg kick lands there from Franco.
Babin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Franco. Franco obviously looking to wear him down.
Babin scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Babin wants to clinch.

Babin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Babin is nestled in close to Franco, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Franco wants to get back to his feet.
Babin is keen to just control but Franco is a slippery customer.

Franco holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Babin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Babin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Babin slips a nice elbow through Franco's hands, connecting with Franco's forehead.

Franco lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Babin working over Franco with some ground and pound. Franco looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Franco pushes Babin off looking to stand but Babin dives back in and keeps control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Babin is taking a breather. Franco says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Franco has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Babin is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Franco moves out of range of the leg kick from Babin.
A bone on bone clash there as Babin blocks the leg kick.
Babin lands with a good body shot.
Babin throws the kick towards the body but Franco avoids it.
Franco throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Babin.
Babin thumps Franco with a low kick.
Franco takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Franco.
Franco walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Franco tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Babin is able to avoid easily.
Begbie Franco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Babin lands a body shot.
Babin digs a good body shot into Franco's ribs.

Franco blocks a head kick by Babin.
Babin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Franco is breathing heavily.
Franco waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Babin.
Jean Pierre Babin is winning the standup battle so far.

Babin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Babin is looking to take a break and control but Franco is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Franco is squirming around, avoiding Babin's attempts to control the action.
Franco is still in real trouble! Can Babin finish him?
Babin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Franco because Babin loaded up on that one.
Franco seems to have recovered his senses.
Babin loads up with a big shot that hurts Franco! He's pulled Babin in close but Babin has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Franco survive? More strikes from Babin and Franco is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jean Pierre Babin!
