PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Slyker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slyker comes to the cage accompanied by It's Amazing by Kanye West. Howard has chosen Immortality by Pearl Jam as his entrance music. Cain Slyker looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Howard does no damage.

Slyker clinches up with Howard and pushes him back against the cage.
Howard prevents the takedown attempt.
A frustrated look appears on Howard's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Howard is trying to break the clinch but Slyker has him pressed against the cage.
Slyker is trying to drag Howard to the mat but Howard just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Slyker is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Slyker. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Howard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Slyker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Howard as he avoids it easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Howard.

It looks like Cain Slyker has been cut.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Slyker walks into a stiff left hand from Howard.
Slyker dodges the punch combination from Howard.
Howard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Howard slaps away a takedown attempt from Slyker, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Howard leaves Slyker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Howard closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Slyker! Howard dives in looking to finish! Slyker is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dwayne Howard!
A relieved looking Dwayne Howard thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
