The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koothrappali fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cassano checks it well.
Cassano throws a lazy head kick
and Koothrappali counters with a nice body kick.

and Koothrappali counters with a good low kick that Cassano was not able to check.

Koothrappali clinches with his opponent.
Koothrappali lands an elbow inside that Cassano shrugs off.

It looks like Gianpaolo Cassano has been cut.

Koothrappali tries to pull guard but Cassano won't allow it.
Cassano has had enough of the clinch but Koothrappali keeps him there for the moment.

Koothrappali's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koothrappali is on top in guard.

Koothrappali thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cassano's head.
Koothrappali takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Koothrappali is trying for a kimura here. Cassano looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Koothrappali wins by kimura!
