Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Golota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Winchester is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Carry on my wayward son. This should be a great matchup!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Golota!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Winchester!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golota takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Andrew Golota has been cut.
Golota misses with a looping left.
Winchester lands the left hand.
Golota lunges at Winchester with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Winchester's hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Winchester uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Golota.
Golota lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Golota misses with a looping left.

enabling Winchester to counter with a crisp jab.
Sam Winchester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Golota fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Winchester on the side of the head.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Winchester, as that shot connected.
Golota tests Winchester's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Winchester shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Golota sprawls well. Golota wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Winchester gets slowly back to his feet.
Golota fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Golota steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Winchester.
Golota looks to score with a jab to the body but Winchester is just out of range.
Andrew Golota is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sam Winchester hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Winchester moves in looking to clinch but Golota pushes him off.
Winchester throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Golota sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Winchester attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Winchester lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Golota sprawling to the canvas. Winchester follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Golota hang on?
Winchester is trying to control. Golota wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Winchester is working for a kimura but Golota is defending it quite comfortably.

Golota connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Winchester is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Golota.

Winchester drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Winchester is looking to take a break and control but Golota is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Winchester tries to score with some ground and pound. Golota controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Golota on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Golota tries to get out of the position.
Winchester wants to control but Golota is keeping him busy.

Winchester is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Golota has escaped the position, nice work there.
Winchester looks up at the clock and then as Golota takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Winchester smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Winchester advances to full mount.

Winchester jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Golota is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Golota and Winchester has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Golota takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Golota is not content to let Winchester control the position.
The strikes coming from Winchester are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Winchester tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Winchester has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Winchester postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Golota is not content to let Winchester control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Golota parries the strikes from Winchester easily there. Winchester is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Golota to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Sam Winchester will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Winchester thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Winchester throws a big elbow that misses.
Golota utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Winchester working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Winchester winds up and cracks Golota with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

After winning the bout, Sam Winchester thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
