PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Borschev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake James told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake James!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borschev goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Borschev slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Borschev looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
James throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Borschev's waist but Borschev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing James off to one side.
James looks to throw the jab but Borschev is out of range.

and Borschev counters with a nice leg kick.
Dmitry Borschev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake James.
Borschev displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from James.
James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Borschev but Borschev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
James smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Borschev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and James has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Borschev sends James crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Borschev is motioning to the referee to let James up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

James is rocked!
Borschev ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with James's jaw. James's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Borschev does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
