The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Witiker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Knuckles's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Knuckles is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Witiker is controlling him.
Witiker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Knuckles is working an open guard so Witiker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Witiker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Knuckles looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Witiker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Witiker has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Witiker misses with a takedown attempt - Knuckles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Knuckles throws a leg kick but Witiker sees it coming and moves out of range.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Witiker wants to control from the top but Knuckles keeps moving.
Witiker is really struggling to control Knuckles but he's trying to hold on to the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Jamarcus Witiker wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Knuckles throws a leg kick but Witiker sees it coming and moves out of range.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Knuckles lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Witiker has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Witiker and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Knuckles throws a low kick but Witiker moves out of range easily.
Knuckles is looking to chop away at Witiker's legs.
Knuckles throws a quick inside leg kick.
Knuckles connects with a leg kick. Witiker looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Witiker throws a head kick but Knuckles moves out of range.
Jamarcus Witiker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knuckles lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Witiker is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Knuckles fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Witiker is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Knuckles feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Witiker's calf.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Witiker takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Witiker avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jamarcus Witiker will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Witiker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Witiker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Knuckles's face.
