Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Woo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Woo pinned against the cage. Woo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Woo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Smith rushes Woo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Woo drags the fight down to the ground.
Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Woo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Woo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Woo has escaped and now he's on top!
Woo wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

Woo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smith defends it well.

Woo wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.

Woo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Woo connects with a nice short shot to Smith's temple.
Woo moves into full mount! Smith won't be happy about that!
Smith is wriggling around trying to escape.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith is looking to improve his position but Woo isn't that keen on the idea.
Woo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Smith hang on?
Smith takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Woo's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
