The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carson.
Oquendo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Carson digs a good hook to Oquendo's body.
Oquendo throws a leg kick which misses Carson's front leg but catches the back leg as Carson tries to avoid it.

Carson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Oquendo.

Oquendo walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Carson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Oquendo lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Carson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Carson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Oquendo catches Carson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Oquendo counters with a good low kick that Carson was not able to check.
Carson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Oquendos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Oquendo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Carson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carson seems to be looking for submissions.
Carson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Oquendo tries to reverse the position but Carson maintains control.
Carson goes for an armbar but Oquendo turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Oquendo.
Oquendo is looking to stand up but Carson won't let him.
Carson has control of Oquendo's left arm, preventing Oquendo from doing any damage.
Carson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Oquendo is refusing to be controlled, as Carson sits in half guard.

Carson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oquendo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carson.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Oquendo is not content to let Carson control the position.

Carson swings around for an armbar but Oquendo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Carson's guard.

Carson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oquendo's waist but Oquendo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carson off to one side.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Glenn Carson decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
