Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Froes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oliveira comes to the cage accompanied by Greenday-Holyday. Froes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Apc 16 - Apaga mas não bate. Miguel Oliveira has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Froes!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Froes.
Oliveira looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Froes decides to stand back up.

Miguel Oliveira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Froes tries a head kick but it misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Froes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Oliveira napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Froes has picked Oliveira up - he's going for a ride! Froes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Froes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Froes is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Froes is working for a kimura but Oliveira is defending it quite comfortably.

Froes decides to stand and escape the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Froes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Oliveira controls Froes momentarily but Froes frees himself.
Froes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Igor Froes wasn't active enough on the ground.

Froes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Oliveira napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Froes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The referee asks Froes politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Froes prefers to stall for the moment though.

Froes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Oliveira to his feet.

Oliveira darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Froes flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Froes tries to get to full guard but Oliveira has control of the leg.
Oliveira wants to control but Froes is keeping him busy.

Oliveira is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Igor Froes dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Froes throws a head kick that misses.

Froes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oliveira sprawls well initially but Froes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Froes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Froes is looking to take a break and control but Oliveira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Froes is controlling the pace.
Froes wants to take a breather but Oliveira is having none of it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Igor Froes has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Oliveira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Froes's waist but Froes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oliveira off to one side.

Oliveira gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Froes pushes down on Oliveira's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Froes wants to control but Oliveira is keeping him busy.

Froes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Oliveira defends it well.

Froes decides to return to a standing position.

Froes gets the takedown into side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Froes in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Froes lands a decent elbow from side control.
Oliveira is trying to work for a sweep but Froes has mounted him!
Froes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Oliveira's face.

Froes lands with some strikes.
Froes content just to control the position here.

Froes is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Oliveira is forced to tap! Great finish!
