Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Javier Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashley Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez comes to the cage accompanied by Danza kuduro. Hendricks has chosen Nightrain as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hendricks avoids it really well and circles away.
Hernandez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hendricks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hendricks forces Hernandez back against the cage and clinches.
Hendricks dodges an elbow strike from Hernandez.
Hernandez pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Hendricks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hendricks drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hendricks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hernandez wants to sweep here but Hendricks controlling him for the moment.

Hernandez has a closed guard, preventing Hendricks from standing up.
Hendricks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hernandez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hernandez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hendricks avoids it really well and circles away.

A frustrated look appears on Hernandez's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hernandez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hendricks pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hendricks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hernandez to the ground. Hendricks is now in Hernandez's guard.
Hernandez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hendricks stands up and waves to Hernandez to follow him.
Hendricks missing with a left hand there. Hernandez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hernandez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hendricks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hernandez somewhat.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hernandez is defended easily by Hendricks.
Hernandez throws a looping overhand right but Hendricks ducks down to avoid it.
Hendricks has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hernandez lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hendricks takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Hendricks receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
Hernandez wants a takedown but no success here.
Hendricks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hendricks doesn't manage to clinch there - Hernandez circles away.
Hernandez shoots in but no luck this time.

and Hendricks counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hernandez's guard now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hernandez is trying to keep Hendricks in close.
Hendricks tries to stand but Hernandez is controlling from the bottom.
Hendricks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hernandez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hernandez controls Hendricks momentarily but Hendricks frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hernandez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hendricks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hernandez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ashley Hendricks dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hendricks misses the shot to the body.
Hernandez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hernandez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hernandez is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Hendricks holds of for dear life.
Hernandez wants to control the pace but Hendricks is squirming around nicely.

Hernandez forces the positional change into back control.
Hernandez has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hendricks! Can he survive? No! He's out! Hernandez gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Javier Hernandez!
