The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bug tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Niccoli was well out of range. Poor timing from Bug.
Bug connects with a leg kick. Niccoli looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Niccoli is looking to slow Bug down with leg kicks.
Niccoli digs a good hook to Bug's body.
Bug slips a straight right by Niccoli.
Niccoli tries to land a front kick but Bug steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Niccoli misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bug swats away the attempt to clinch by Niccoli.
Bug checks a leg kick.
Niccoli checks a leg kick.
Niccoli throws a head kick but Bug moves out of range.
Niccoli fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bug checks it well.
Bug scores with a punch to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Niccoli cracks Bug with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Niccoli thows a leg kick but Bug checks it
and Bug counters with a low kick, right behind Niccoli 's knee.
Bug connects with the punch.

It looks like Giovanni Niccoli has been cut.
Niccoli keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Niccoli drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Bug throws out a leg kick but Niccoli moves out of range and Bug only half commits.
Bug lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Niccoli ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bug's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bug duly obliges.

Niccoli drives through and clinches with Bug against the cage.
Bug misses with a hook from the clinch.
Niccoli is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bug is defending well for now.
Niccoli is stalling here.
Bug tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Niccoli's elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bug works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Bug breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Niccoli throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bug throws a low kick, looking for Niccoli's leg but Niccoli calmly moves out of range.
Niccoli takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Giovanni Niccoli's cut is getting worse.
Niccoli misses with a leg kick.
A jab from Niccoli does it's job there.
Bug looks to land a right hand but Niccoli moved out of range.
Bug throws a good cross that connects.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bug takes a jab right on the kisser.

It looks like Love Bug has been cut.
Niccoli is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Bug doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Niccoli crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Niccoli's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Love Bug!
A relieved looking Love Bug thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
