Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alek Kaervosk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Slippin. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alek Kaervosk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kaervosk counters with a three punch combo that has Hammer backing up. Hammer nods at Kaervosk to acknowledge the strikes.
Kaervosk throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hammer.
Kaervosk dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kaervosk lands with a slapping head kick.
Kaervosk throws a head kick that Hammer semi-blocks.
Kaervosk scores with a head kick. Hammer tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Kaervosk closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Kaervosk lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hammer dives in and grabs Kaervosk's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kaervosk pushes down on Hammer's head and hops out.
Hammer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hammer misses with a takedown
and Kaervosk counters with a head kick. That will keep Hammer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Hammer is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Kaervosk's corner calls for a 1-2. Kaervosk obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hammer fails to land the takedown.
Hammer shoots in but Kaervosk avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kaervosk looks to land a combination. Hammer sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Kaervosk throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Kaervosk stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kaervosk lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Kaervosk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hammer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Hammer throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kaervosk counters with a solid body kick.
Hammer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kaervosk as he jumps to the side.
Kaervosk fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kaervosk pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hammer back to the cage. Kaervosk follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Hammer tries to clinch up but Kaervosk circles away and keeps his distance.

Kaervosk throws a series of strikes that have Hammer backpedaling.
Hammer doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kaervosk counters with a nice uppercut.
Kaervosk scores with a one two! Hammer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Sloppy strikes from Kaervosk. Those never looked like landing.
Kaervosk keeps the fight on the outside.

Hammer feints and as Kaervosk raises his hands in defense, Hammer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Kaervosk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Frank Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hammer shoots in for a takedown but Kaervosk shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kaervosk is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Hammer jumps guard but Kaervosk turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Hammer is trying to drag Kaervosk to the mat but Kaervosk just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hammer gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kaervosk regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kaervosk controls Hammer momentarily but Hammer frees himself.
Kaervosk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hammer on the ground.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kaervosk can't do much from the bottom here.

Hammer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kaervosk has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hammer works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Hammer is trying to get an arm triangle but Kaervosk is defending well.

Hammer decides to stand back up. Hammer steps back and let's Kaervosk get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kaervosk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Hammer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Hammer takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kaervosk avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown by Hammer or perhaps it was just good defense by Kaervosk which made him look bad.

Kaervosk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hammer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kaervosk has managed to get both his arms back between Hammer's legs - danger averted.

Oh but Hammer is tightening it up a little... Kaervosk has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kaervosk reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kaervosk taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hammer!
