Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dontae Sheldon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Tech N9ne - Am I A Psycho ft. B.o.B., Hopsin . Sheldon has chosen Salmon Song as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escobar shoots in and gets a takedown into Sheldon's guard.
Escobar wants to control from the top but Sheldon keeps moving.
Sheldon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Escobar puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Sheldon controlling the position well.
Sheldon wants to get back to full guard.
Sheldon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Escobar is trying to control the action in half guard but Sheldon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sheldon is concentrating on defense, preventing Escobar from advancing position.
Escobar wants to stand but Sheldon has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sheldon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Escobar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sheldon gets tackled into the cage by Escobar. Escobar maintains the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Escobar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sheldon misses with a wild body shot.
Escobar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sheldon pinned against the cage. Sheldon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Escobar takes one on the button.
Escobar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Escobar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Escobar shoots in and drives through. Sheldon sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Escobar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sheldon pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Escobar back to the cage. Sheldon follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pablo Escobar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Escobar with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sheldon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Escobar doesn't seem bothered though.
Escobar shoots for a double leg takedown but Sheldon sprawls well. He's pushed Escobar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sheldon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Escobar is breathing heavily.
Sheldon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Escobar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Escobar throws a combination that misses
and Sheldon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sheldon lands a head shot.
Escobar throws a head kick that misses.
A jab lands there for Sheldon.
Sheldon walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Escobar drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Sheldon swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Escobar's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dontae Sheldon!
Dontae Sheldon is the new bantamweight champion!
Dontae Sheldon decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
