Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edward Pattinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pattinson comes to the cage accompanied by Blue (Da Ba Dee) - Eiffel 65. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacobs shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pattinson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Matthew Jacobs dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Pattinson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jacobs.
Pattinson leaves Jacobs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pattinson forces Jacobs back against the cage and clinches.

Pattinson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jacobs shoots in but no luck this time.
Edward Pattinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Jacobs.
Jacobs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pattinson's waist but Pattinson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jacobs off to one side.
Pattinson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Pattinson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jacobs has time to react.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jacobs. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Jacobs tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pattinson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jacobs somewhat.
Jacobs closes the distance and clinches up with Pattinson, looking for a takedown. Jacobs pushes Pattinson against the cage but Pattinson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jacobs is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pattinson! Jacobs is out on his feet! Pattinson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Jacobs is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Jacobs is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
