Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Cooperman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Coldcutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Max Cooperman has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Cooperman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alexander Coldcutt!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coldcutt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cooperman as he avoids it easily.
Coldcutt tries to clinch but Cooperman moves out of range.
Max Cooperman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooperman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cooperman misses with a jab, cross combination.

Cooperman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cooperman wants it to stay on the feet.
Coldcutt fails with the takedown.
Max Cooperman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Coldcutt.

Coldcutt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Coldcutt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Coldcutt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cooperman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coldcutt on the ground.

Cooperman holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Coldcutt tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Coldcutt has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cooperman's face.

Cooperman avoids a strike by Coldcutt and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Coldcutt's guard! Fantastic escape!
Coldcutt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooperman's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Coldcutt is looking to pass into half guard but Cooperman pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cooperman is in guard.
Cooperman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Coldcutt closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cooperman quickly recovers to half guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Coldcutt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Coldcutt is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cooperman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cooperman has escaped and now he's on top!

Coldcutt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cooperman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cooperman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Coldcutt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cooperman defends well.

and Coldcutt counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cooperman enables Coldcutt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cooperman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alexander Coldcutt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Coldcutt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cooperman's head.
