Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pozar Pozar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pozar comes into the arena with z Buta Wjeżdzam blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Pozar Pozar has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy misses with a straight left.
Murphy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Murphy on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Pozar misses with a hook. Murphy ducked under it nicely.
Pozar throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Pozar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Murphy.

Murphy gets the takedown into side control.
Pozar managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Murphy.
Pozar tries to bench press Murphy off him but Murphy keeps the position.
Pozar is not content to let Murphy control the position.
Murphy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Pozar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Murphy wants to control from the top but Pozar keeps moving.

Murphy has his foot on Pozar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pozar works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pozar throws an elbow that misses. Murphy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pozar's guard. Nice move by Murphy!

Murphy drops back looking for a leg! Pozar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pozar manages to kick Murphy off! Murphy jumps back into Pozar's guard.

Pozar is trying to keep Murphy in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pozar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Murphy manages to get himself to full guard.
Pozar is looking to stand up but Murphy won't let him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pozar Pozar wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Pozar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pozar lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Murphy feints and as Pozar raises his hands in defense, Murphy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pozar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Murphy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pozar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Murphy wants to control from the top but Pozar keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Pozar Pozar wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Pozar shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pozar showed some decent athleticism there.
Murphy is breathing heavily.
Pozar wants to control but Murphy is keeping him busy.

Pozar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pozar decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Murphy tries a low kick but Pozar avoids it.
Pozar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murphy as he jumps to the side.
Pozar Pozar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Pozar counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Murphy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pozar.

Pozar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murphy's waist but Murphy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pozar off to one side.

Murphy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Murphy tries to score with a low kick but Pozar moves his leg out of the way.

Pozar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Murphy, pushing him back against the cage.
Pozar prevents a body shot from Murphy.
Murphy stalling in the clinch but Pozar improves position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Pozar wants to clinch up but Murphy keeps it at a distance.

Pozar misses with a takedown attempt - Murphy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pozar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Murphy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pozar somewhat.

Pozar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Murphy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pozar is defended easily by Murphy.

and Murphy counters with a shoot takedown. Pozar fights it but they end up in guard.

Murphy drops back looking for a leg! Pozar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pozar manages to kick Murphy off! Murphy jumps back into Pozar's guard.
Murphy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Pozar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Murphy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Pozar is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Pozar pushes Murphy off and scrambles back to his feet.
Pozar chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Murphy can pounce on him.
Pozar throws a shot from downtown. Murphy moves away and avoids it.
Pozar Pozar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Murphy slaps away a takedown attempt from Pozar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Murphy lands a leg kick that knocks Pozar off balance momentarily.
Murphy cracks Pozar with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Pozar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murphy circles away.
Murphy ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Murphy keeps the fight on the outside.

John Murphy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pozar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
