Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen ''Big Poppa'' by The Notorious B.I.G. as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Holmes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
23 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Trevor Smith!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Holmes.
Holmes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
Holmes feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Holmes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Holmes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Smith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Holmes has Smith in his guard.
Smith engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Holmes seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holmes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Holmes shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Holmes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A less than humble Trevor Smith misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
