Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Van Der Hoef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Ballinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ballinger has chosen A Scottish Soldier by Andy Stewart as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Hoef uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ballinger.
Van Der Hoef slips a jab and a cross from Ballinger.
Van Der Hoef works over Ballinger's head and body with a nice combination.
Ballinger pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ballinger lands a lovely overhand right.
It looks like Rafael Van Der Hoef has been cut.
Ballinger throws an off balance right hand
and Van Der Hoef counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ballinger comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Ballinger uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Ballinger digs a good body shot into Van Der Hoef's ribs.

Ballinger bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Van Der Hoef's head backwards.
Ballinger loads up on a big right hand but Van Der Hoef slips the punch.
Ballinger tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Van Der Hoef manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Van Der Hoef counters with a nice body shot.
Ballinger throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Ryan Ballinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Van Der Hoef counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Ballinger is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Van Der Hoef.
Van Der Hoef takes a swing at Ballinger's ribcage but misses.
Ballinger thuds his shin into the meat of Van Der Hoef's side.
The crowd cheers as Ballinger lands an impressive looking overhand right. Van Der Hoef doesn't seem phased though.
Rafael Van Der Hoef's cut is getting worse.
Ballinger misses the jab.
Ballinger lands with a hook. Van Der Hoef tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Van Der Hoef is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Van Der Hoef. Ballinger does a little dance to reset his feet.
Van Der Hoef throws a sloppy body shot
letting Ballinger counter with a right hand.
Oh Van Der Hoef is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ballinger is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Van Der Hoef had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Ballinger drops Van Der Hoef with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Van Der Hoef! Ballinger dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Ballinger!
A relieved looking Ryan Ballinger thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
