PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Uzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aran Schmeck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uzi comes into the arena with Slipknot's Psychosocial blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmeck fails in his attempt to clinch.
The crowd cheers as Uzi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Schmeck doesn't seem phased though.
Schmeck lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Uzi gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Schmeck.
Uzi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Uzi moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Uzi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Uzi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Uzi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Uzi misses with a low kick.
Uzi throws a sloppy head kick and Schmeck moves out of range easily.
Uzi throws a leg kick but Schmeck checks it.
Nice body kick from Uzi.
Uzi throws a jab but it's blocked by Schmeck.
Schmeck shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Uzi defends it nicely.
Uzi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Uzi drops Schmeck with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Schmeck looks back up at him and smiles so Uzi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Uzi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Schmeck drops his hands for a split second and Uzi immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Schmeck face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Uzi follows up with a right hand that knocks Schmeck into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Roger Uzi!
After winning the bout, Roger Uzi thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
