Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smithson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukas Lukas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lukas is looking to clinch but Smithson is avoiding it.
Lukas avoids the head kick by Smithson.
Smithson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lukas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Smithson clinches.
Lukas jumps guard but Smithson stands there with Lukas around his waist. Lukas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Smithson is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Smithson throws a knee to the head but misses.
Lukas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
John Smithson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukas Lukas.

Lukas successfully pulls guard.

Lukas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Lukas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lukas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Lukas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smithson keeps working.
Lukas is putting a hurting on Smithson here, landing some big shots from side control.
Lukas looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Smithson is avoiding damage well.

The referee asks Lukas politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lukas prefers to stall for the moment though.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lukas misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lukas Lukas wasn't active enough on the ground.
Smithson tries to clinch up but Lukas circles away and keeps his distance.

Smithson moves into range and clinches up with Lukas.
Smithson tries to pull guard but Lukas forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Smithson jumps guard but Lukas turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Smithson has had enough of the clinch but Lukas keeps him there for the moment.

Lukas decides to pull guard.
Lukas looking for a sweep. Not yet Lukas, not yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lukas is on top in guard.
Lukas trying to control the position from guard on top but Smithson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lukas throwing strikes but missing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smithson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lukas on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smithson. Smithson obviously looking to wear him down.

Lukas closes the distance and pushes Smithson back into the cage.

Lukas pulls guard.

Lukas has his feet on Smithson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Smithson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lukas.

Smithson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lukas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smithson somewhat.

Smithson slaps away a takedown attempt from Lukas, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Smithson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Smithson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lukas sprawls well. Lukas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smithson gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Smithson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Lukas throws a nice looking combination but Smithson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lukas keeps the fight on the outside.
Lukas shoots in looking for a takedown. Smithson tries to sprawl out of it but Lukas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smithson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Smithson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lukas uses the cage to get back to his feet.
John Smithson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lukas shoots in looking for a takedown but Smithson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lukas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lukas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lukas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smithson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lukas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smithson keeps working.

Lukas has hold of Smithson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Smithson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lukas cranks the arm and Smithson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Smithson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
