Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raz Matazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sinatra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Matazz might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tool - Eulogy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raz Matazz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Sinatra!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matazz takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Matazz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sinatra.
Matazz pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sinatra looks to land a left hand but Matazz moved out of range nicely.
Matazz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Frank Sinatra has been cut.
Matazz doesn't manage to clinch there - Sinatra circles away.
Sinatra swings for the body but Matazz moves out of range.
Matazz thows a body shot but no joy.
Sinatra throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Frank Sinatra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sinatra avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Matazz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Matazz misses with a straight right.
Sinatra takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Matazz avoids the body shot from Sinatra.

Sinatra shoots in for a double leg but Matazz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sinatra shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Matazz sprawls well. Matazz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sinatra gets slowly back to his feet.

Sinatra manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Matazz on his heels. He'll look to pass Matazz's guard now, I'm sure.
Sinatra lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Matazz is refusing to be controlled, as Sinatra sits in half guard.
Sinatra throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Matazz is trying to control but can't.
Matazz gets back to full guard.
Sinatra tries to free his leg and advance position but Matazz is retaining full guard.
Sinatra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Matazz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sinatra wants to pass the guard but Matazz is keeping the position.
Matazz has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Sinatra has passed into side control.
Matazz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Sinatra has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Matazz!
Sinatra controlling the pace for now.
Sinatra avoids the attempt from Matazz to control.
Sinatra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Matazz working to try and regain half guard.
Matazz regains half guard.
Matazz is looking to improve his position.
Sinatra wants to take a breather but Matazz is having none of it.
Matazz blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sinatra.

Matazz tries to roll over but Sinatra keeps him under control.

Sinatra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sinatra trying to control but Matazz is working from the bottom.
Sinatra keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Matazz's head.
Sinatra passes into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sinatra wants to take a breather but Matazz is having none of it.
Sinatra trying to mount his opponent but Matazz defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Matazz is pressing down on Sinatra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Matazz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sinatra passes Matazz's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Frank Sinatra's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Matazz tries to clinch up

and Sinatra counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matazz trying to hold on to Sinatra's head to control him but Sinatra postures up.
Sinatra moves into full mount! Matazz won't be happy about that!
Matazz gets back to half guard.
Matazz is looking to escape.
Matazz is not content to let Sinatra control the position.
Sinatra prevents Matazz from improving his position.
Matazz wants to control but Sinatra is keeping busy.
Sinatra wants to pass to mount but Matazz is defending the position.

Sinatra wants to control but Matazz is keeping him busy.
Matazz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sinatra's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sinatra's back!
Sinatra tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Matazz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Sinatra is staying active underneath Matazz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Well, if Matazz is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Raz Matazz.
Matazz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Matazz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sinatra lands a glancing blow to the side of Matazz's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Matazz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Matazz moves out of range as Sinatra strikes.
Matazz throws a shot from downtown. Sinatra moves away and avoids it.

Matazz avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sinatra clobbers Matazz with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Matazz has Sinatra up against the cage in a clinch.

Sinatra lands a takedown into guard.
Matazz keeping moving, preventing Sinatra from controlling successfully.
Sinatra wants to pass the guard but Matazz is keeping the position.
Sinatra trying to control but Matazz is working from the bottom.
Sinatra looking to sit in guard and control but Matazz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Matazz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sinatra tries to land a sweep but no joy.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sinatra holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Matazz trying to control the position from guard on top but Sinatra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Matazz throws a leg kick but Sinatra checks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sinatra throws a predictable looking body shot
and Matazz counters with a good, hard body kick but Sinatra shrugs it off.
Sinatra's corner calls for a 1-2. Sinatra obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Sinatra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Matazz with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Sinatra lands a slapping body shot.
Sinatra throws a jab but it's blocked by Matazz.
Matazz throws a half hearted mid kick.
A cross from Sinatra lands.
Sinatra ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Matazz moves away.
Matazz misses with a double jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sinatra. Matazz does a little dance to reset his feet.
A left lands for Sinatra.
Sinatra throws a lazy right hand but Matazz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sinatra throws a poor cross that misses
and Matazz counters with a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sinatra connects with a right hand. Matazz shakes it off.
Decent striking displayed by Sinatra there.
Frank Sinatra seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Matazz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sinatra tests Matazz's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice jab there from Matazz.
Matazz throws an off balance right hand

and Sinatra counters with a single leg into guard. Matazz didn't expect that.

Matazz pulls Sinatra in close to his closed guard and prevents Sinatra from doing any damage or advancing position.

Frank Sinatra is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Raz Matazz has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Matazz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sinatra.
Matazz throws a hook but Sinatra avoids it easily.

Sinatra shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Matazz is trying to defend but Sinatra finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Matazz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sinatra is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Matazz scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Sinatra will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Matazz throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sinatra.

Matazz throws an off balance right hand

and Sinatra counters with a shoot takedown. Matazz fights it but they end up in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sinatra's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Sinatra trying to control the position from guard on top but Matazz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Matazz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Matazz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

I would just about give that final round to Frank Sinatra.
I've got Sinatra winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
