PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Krush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krush has chosen Pusha T- Pain as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Alexander Krush will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tony Hendricks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Krush!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendricks blocks a head kick by Krush.

Krush forces Hendricks back against the cage and clinches.
Krush lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Hendricks has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Krush after a bit of a struggle.

Krush stuffs the takedown attempt from Hendricks. Hendricks gets slowly back to his feet.

Hendricks tries to clinch but Krush moves out of range.
Hendricks closes the distance and clinches up with Krush, looking for a takedown. Hendricks pushes Krush against the cage but Krush circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hendricks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Krush walks away with a smile on his face. Hendricks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hendricks shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hendricks doesn't manage to clinch there - Krush circles away.
Krush blocks a head kick by Hendricks.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Krush enables Hendricks to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Krush manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Hendricks drops back looking for a leg! Krush is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Krush manages to kick Hendricks off! Hendricks jumps back into Krush's guard.

Hendricks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hendricks keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Krush's head.

Krush has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hendricks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Krush working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hendricks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hendricks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hendricks is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Krush is rocked!

Krush in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Krush is still in real trouble! Can Hendricks finish him?
Hendricks lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Hendricks has hold of Krush's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Krush manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
BOOM! Hendricks connects with a massive shot to the dome!
You get the feeling that Krush really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hendricks unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Krush wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Hendricks celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Hendricks!
After winning the bout, Tony Hendricks thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
