Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Davids (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Sharpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sharpe has chosen Fleetwood Mac - Albatross as his entrance music. Patrick Davids could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alan Sharpe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick Davids!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Sharpe!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davids misses with a head kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sharpe crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Davids - the referee stops the clock and Sharpe gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Davids. Sharpe manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A head kick misses from Davids.
Davids throws the kick towards the body but Sharpe avoids it.
Davids throws a head kick that misses.
Sharpe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Davids throws a half hearted mid kick.
Davids tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice inside leg kick there by Davids. That's going to slow Sharpe down.
Davids lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Davids throws a solid leg kick but Sharpe takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Davids.
Sharpe avoids a kick to the body.
Davids misses with a body kick.
Davids misses with a head kick.
Sharpe checks the leg kick nicely there.
Davids throws a leg kick but Sharpe checks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sharpe closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Davids's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Sharpe distracts Davids with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Sharpe passes into half guard.
Sharpe is looking to advance position but Davids won't allow it.
Sharpe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sharpe is taking a breather. Davids says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sharpe not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sharpe lands strikes from half guard.
Davids is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sharpe scores with a couple of nice shots.
Sharpe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
It looks like Sharpe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Sharpe working over Davids with some ground and pound. Davids looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.


It looks like Patrick Davids has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sharpe in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Davids tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Sharpe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alan Sharpe!

During a confident post fight interview, Alan Sharpe thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
