The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higga fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tanner avoids it really well and circles away.
Higga circles away from the clinch attempt.
Higga misses with a takedown attempt - Tanner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Tanner throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Tanner is looking to stand up but Higga isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Higga is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Higga in particular looking to stall.
