PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colin Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Change or Die - Papa Roach kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Colin Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Morgan slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Morgan shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Morgan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Morgan slips under a jab.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Morgan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Morgan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Let's hope that Morgan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
