Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Diego Carneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Hovimaki!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hovimaki moves into the clinch.
Carneiro has Hovimaki pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Hovimaki manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Hovimaki is looking to break free of the clinch but Carneiro has double underhooks.
Carneiro wants a takedown.
Hovimaki prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Carneiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carneiro trying to stall but Hovimaki improves his position.
Hovimaki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hovimaki closes the distance and pushes Carneiro back into the ropes.
Carneiro is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hovimaki is defending well.
Carneiro has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hovimaki after a bit of a struggle.
Carneiro changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hovimaki fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Carneiro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hovimaki misses with an uppercut. Carneiro saw that one coming.
Diego Carneiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carneiro dives in and grabs Hovimaki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hovimaki pushes down on Carneiro's head and hops out.
Carneiro tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Hovimaki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hovimaki sends Carneiro crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hovimaki is motioning to the referee to let Carneiro up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Carneiro is rocked!
It looks like Diego Carneiro has been cut.
Carneiro is breathing heavily.

Carneiro misses with a takedown attempt
and Hovimaki counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
