The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toney shoots in and drives through. Volkov sprawls well.
Volkov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice straight punches there by Volkov. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Volkov.

Volkov moves in looking to clinch but Toney pushes him off.
Toney has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Volkov.
Volkov throws a leg kick which misses Toney's front leg but catches the back leg as Toney tries to avoid it.

The crowd cheers as Volkov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Toney doesn't seem phased though.

Volkov moves in looking to clinch but Toney pushes him off.
Toney fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Volkov avoids it really well and circles away.
Volkov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Volkov paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Volkov scores with a one two! Toney had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Volkov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Toney gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Toney thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Toney goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Volkov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Toney but great work by Volkov.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Toney is trying to drag Volkov to the mat but Volkov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Toney's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Volkov darts in and clinches Toney up against the cage.
Toney jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Volkov walks away with a smile on his face. Toney gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
