PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerzy Trybus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Szumilas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Szumilas is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Amorphis "Skyforger". Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szumilas circles away from the clinch attempt
and Szumilas counters with a nice body kick.
Szumilas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Trybus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Trybus looks to land a combination but Szumilas avoids it well.
Szumilas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Szumilas swats away the attempt to clinch by Trybus.
Trybus fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Trybus connects with an inside leg kick.

Szumilas wants to slow Trybus down by chopping away at his legs.
Trybus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Szumilas circles away quickly and effectively.
Trybus wants to clinch
and Szumilas counters with a series of strikes. Trybus will be more careful next time no doubt.
Trybus swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Trybus motions for Szumilas to come forward. Trybus throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Trybus lands a two punch combo.
Szumilas walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Trybus checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Trybus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Trybus tries to keep at a distance but Szumilas has taken the fight into the clinch.

Szumilas jumps guard and drags Trybus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Trybus throws a strike but Szumilas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Trybus seems keen to control Szumilas's posture.

Szumilas stands up and waves to Trybus to follow him.
Trybus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Szumilas circles away quickly and effectively.
Szumilas will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Trybus lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Szumilas backs up against the cage.

Szumilas shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Szumilas is looking for a kimura but Trybus is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Szumilas to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Szumilas connects with a nice short shot to Trybus's temple.
