Van der Laan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eazy-E ft. Tupac, The Game - How We Do. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mullen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Van der Laan. Van der Laan obviously looking to wear him down.

Mullen loads up on a big right hand but Van der Laan slips the punch.

Some bone on bone action there as Van der Laan checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Mullen lands a glancing blow to the side of Van der Laan's head.

Good leg kick by Van der Laan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Van der Laan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mullen circles away quickly and effectively.
Mullen misses with an uppercut. Van der Laan saw that one coming.
Van der Laan throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Van der Laan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Van der Laan will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Mullen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mullen lands with a hook. Van der Laan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Mullen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Oh Van der Laan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mullen cracks Van der Laan on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Van der Laan falls backwards against the cage. Mullen follows up with more strikes that drop Van der Laan to his knees. Mullen keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Van der Laan! This one is all over!
