The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carson tries for a takedown but Hilkuri sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hilkuri takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hilkuri connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Carson momentarily.

It looks like Glenn Carson has been cut.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hilkuri.

Hilkuri fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Carson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hilkuri has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Carson finds it's way round the side to connect with Hilkuri's head.
Hilkuri uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Carson stuns Hilkuri with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Carson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hilkuri is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carson's back!
Carson rolls, trying to escape but Hilkuri keeps control of the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carson wants to control his opponent's hands but Hilkuri gets his hands free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
